Huntington Beach turns into a mosh pit of very tan bodies when the US Open of Surfing comes to town at the beginning of August. I met up with my friends Mitch and Andrea to hang out at the Pizza Lounge with the intent of getting some delicious food, beer, and watching the bikinis walk by. Man, I love Southern California!
The other day I decided to test out some parking garage lighting techniques to elevate my car photographing skills. So Moo and I found a somewhat deserted parking garage setup some lights and let the magic happen. Plus I needed to take some photos of the car to sell it in the near future. So anyone interested in a 2008 Honda Fit Sport, 5 speed manual, and ~54K miles…let me know.
Here’s a setup shot of how I did it. Pretty simple really. No need for a cyclorama or big studio strobe…unfortunately one of my SB-28 did sacrifice itself after I drove over it trying to move my car. Next time I have to remember the flashes underneath the car!
Right after I got back from Detroit, I headed down to San Diego where I met up with Marc to take in the experience that was Comic Con. On Saturday we just hung out outside and took photos of all the crazy costumes people were wearing. There was definitely a surprising number of beautiful girls out at a nerd convention. We saw Ron Jeremy out there as well as the Double Rainbow guy. It was an awesome experience, but next year I want to get tickets for Saturday. I could only imagine how insane it must have been inside.
I have been so behind on posting. Sorry to all those people that keep checking this blog. In any case, back in July I was in Detroit for work. That gave me some time to catch up with my peeps. It was good seeing everyone again, but man the late nights and booze really did me in. I’m not as young as I used to be :)
