Well, I've always wanted a 911...so I got one. Sadly, it gets better fuel economy and range than the Bimmer with fewer things to go wrong...like there's no power steering or coolant in the damn thing. Plus the coolness factor is much higher.

What's This Say About People's Priorities
I'm sure this is getting to be a common sight in big cities. But really, should you be getting a set of All Days (24" wheels) if you need to make payments on them. I guess it appeals to a certain demographic.

Canon 70-200mm F2.8 L USM
Well, I couldn't help myself. A hot deal came up on ebay and I had to jump on it....so here it is in its white bodied glory. Especially since its the sharpest telephoto lens Canon makes to date...sharper than the IS version. If anyone is interested in a 80-200 F2.8L magic drainpipe let me know.

Inaugural Launch of Jeff's Boat in Lake Conroe
After the photo workshop, I headed up to Conroe to hang out on Jeff's boat. I can barely swim, so wake boarding was out of the question for me.
Somehow a bear climbed on our boat...and started drinking beer.

Turning Point Photo Club Workshop
This weekend we had a photo club workshop to learn how to take different style of portrait shots. They had some period dress stuff, a full studio setup with umbrella lights, a volley ball court, a picnic area, and a kids playground. We got to shoot with fellow members of the club and I learned out a lot that day. Here's the results of the some of that learnin'.
Gator Motorplex Dirt Track Racing
After the zoo, I met up with my buddy Jeff and his Dad who was in town for the weekend to get in on some good ol' fashioned redneck racing action.
Houston Zoo
We had a photo club outing to the Houston Zoo last weekend and got some pretty exclusive access to some of the animals before they opened to the public that day.
Cardinal Chicks
A pair of Cardinals decided to make their nest in a bush just outside my office window, so I got a front seat view of them raising their chiclets. They're kinda cute in a really ugly sort of way.

Crazy Travel
So after having flown back to Houston at 11:56pm, I drove home to get up at 5:00am to fly out to Jacksonville, FL to do a couple scene inspections. Of course along the way I found some interesting sights.
This Sable looked so much like a convertible that I thought it was a new model...I guess you can't buy taste.
As I got close one of the accident scenes I needed to photograph, I came upon a fresh one.
Looks like he no longer has a death wish...and has decided to settle down and work the land.
