Our last photo club outing was to the Butterfly House downtown. Got some sweet pics, but it was about as humid as sweat shop on there. Chicago 4th of July

Golfing in 95 deg Heat...
...isn't as bad as it used to be. But then again, I've forgotten what any other temperature feels like. I think this ball is actually sweating, but I'm not positive.

First shot of Hot Chicks with the S70
Gotta say, I'm loving this camera more and more. Only downsides I've found so far is the tiny circa 2004 1.8" LCD on the back and the miserable 140 shot battery life from a pretty huge battery. Somehow I think these girls are more Buckcherry fans than Motley Crue groupies.
First HDR from S70
So I tested out the hot new/old S70 at the Motley Crue concert Tuesday night. In the intermission between Papa Roach and Buckcherry, I caught this sweet sunset of the Downtown Houston from the upper decks of Toyota Center. Not bad for a little point and shoot and can capture in RAW mode. Gotta love the auto exposure bracketing and a super sharp 28mm wide angle.

Hot Old Point and Shoot - Canon S70
Its not exactly a point and shoot. But more of a prosumer compact. Its got full Manual, Aperture priority, Shutter Priority, Program, and standard p&s scene modes. Also has Auto Exposure Bracketing, Flash exposure Compensation, 2nd curtain sync, slow shutter sync, spotmeter, and Manual Focus control. Its got a 28-100mm F2.8-5.3 equivalent zoom, RAW mode, and probably the coolest feature is that it can turn any jpeg into a RAW file at the touch of a button. Its got a 1/1.8" sensor, much bigger than the regular p&s's at 1/2.5". And its 7.1mp, so it pre megapixel wars. Uses the same battery as the older Rebels, and takes CF cards. The body is all metal so its pretty solid. Probably bigger than something you would take to the bar, but for situations where the DSLR would be a pain and the elph just doesn't give enough control, this is the hot setup. Best part is that you can get these things on ebay for ~$150 or less.

My New (Fuel Efficient) Ride!
Here's my Tidewater Blue Metallic Honda Fit Sport. Check out the hot 15" wheels :) It actually has an enormous amount of space and drives like a go kart. Needs about 50 more HP, but hey at 34mpg, I'm not complaining.
