Met up in Detroit with my friends Mike, Matt, his GF Jenny, and Chris to do a shoot at the old abandoned Packard plant. Funny thing was, we kept running into other photographers. There's tons of awesome grafitti and really cool design elements. We only got to explore a few locations before it got too dark to walk around. You can see the rest of the photoset here.
Went to the Chowder House Cafe (Google still sees it as Jimmy's Cafe) for dinner tonight and had the twisted noodles (seared ahi tuna) and bbq pork tacos...both are highly recommended.
Got sent down to Florida for work and since a media launch was involved, marketing hooked us up with a pretty fly hotel. The Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort was definitely posh. My room had a set of of bunk beds as well as 2 double beds and a couch. It was almost a junior suite. And it was requested that we all get ocean view...I couldn't complain. Fortunately, Sandestin is only about an hour away from Panama City, so it gave me a chance to visit my old friends Jeff, Erika, and their new addition Darren. I haven't seen him since he was born back in Nov '09. He is the spitting image of Jeff. Anyway, a week of testing, seeing old friends, and eating some fantastic seafood...this is what work should always be like.
Met up with Doug in Big Bend over Labor Day weekend to hang out and take some pics. Doug rode the VFR out and I took the Fit. Doug packed the G10, and I packed everything. Funny thing was the smallest bag in the car was for clothes. Anyway, had a pretty relaxing weekend taking photos and driving around the park. Definitely a lot of fun. Breakfast at Kathy's, dinner at the Starlight Theater, and beers on the porch watching the sunset. You can see all the photos here.
Went to a track in San Marcos called Harris Hill Road with Yama. Its a private track that was intended just for learning, so there are no big races held there. The club membership is pretty reasonable and allows you to drive your car anytime you want. Yama just bought a sweet 2006 Porsche Cayman S in bright yellow. We met up with some PCA guys who brought their 2010 Caymans with PDK out to the track too.
Lots of catching up on the blog for me. Did some portraits for my big boss. He's got some great kids...but they are a bit "hetic."
My sister complained that I haven't been posting...which I must admit I have been delinquent on. So here's some pictures from Cleveland. Brian and Mike came down for the weekend and since this was Mike's old stomping grounds (Case Western) we had a ball. Took in an Indians game, bowled with random married chicks, ate some awesome dim sum, and just had a good time. See the rest of the pics here.
